6 months? Where do the days go? I am up waiting on our painfully slow printer that gets stuck every other page to finish printing our tax returns. Yes, my organizational skills like everything else in my life have fallen to bits and I am just now filing our taxes. Sad isn't it! Lets see....... Since Octobers update things have only gotten worse in the travel department. My company decided that they needed new software so the travel has gone through the roof. I drove my car a total of just under 37000 miles last year and only a little of 6000 of that was for personal use. The rest was directly related to travel for my job. I am hoping that things will slow down when we have everyone in the company trained to use the system. We education nurses finished putting together the training manual last week and it is at the printers as we speak. Now on to the other 8 million projects that we have identified in need of doing since they cut our staff in half. But who am I to complain. I have a job and that is a really good thing. My kids are growing too quickly. Tori turned 15 today and Liz turned 8 last weekend. Kate will be 12 on Wednesday. All keeping me very busy. Tori, a freshman, was invited to prom. Unfortunately is was scheduled the same weekend that we had thought we would take a vacation. So.....a freshman invite to prom happens once and the zoo in Omaha is open everyday except xmas. Vacation off, Prom on!!! Her dress is beautiful. Not only because it is but because we found it used (worn once) for cheap!! Lizzie starts soccer tomorrow at 5:30 and will play until the end of May when swim club starts for all three girls and they will have practice everyday and a meet every Saturday until the second weekend in July. Lizzie had thought she might want to play softball too but changed her mind. Kate. Well Kate is 12 almost and that says everything that my fellow parents need to know. She is very, Very , VERY 12. Toby turned 18 in December and I am hoping we can get him a HS diploma before he thinks that he knows so much and we know so little that he steps out on his own. Although I almost had to let him learn the hard way the other day and if he doesn't mind his P's and Q's he might get a speedy education on just how far a minimum wage part time pay check will get him when he is paying rent and utilities. Can't wait for summer. The longer days make me feel like I am home more although I don't really get more time here. The kids can just stay up later so I see them more. And fun stuff like camping and bonfires are easier to get done when the bedtime is not as important. I want you all to know that I am not ignoring you. I do get an email when those I am subscribed to update and I do read it. I have kept a tab on your goings on. I hope this finds you all having a very good day and that you are not sitting up waiting on your printer to finish printing your taxes. Love all!-Jen |
